I'm very late in thanking you for your welcome!! I'm back, its only been a couple of years lol

I have been checking the  discussions about inks, dyes and colored pencils. Maybe you could check my question and head me in the right direction. The picture I posted doesn't show the full extent of the shingle carving. I have thought about burning but there is a lot of it!!  But if I must then I'll just have to do it. Lol  Thank you again for your kind welcome Sue Robinson

Thanks for your welcome and I apologize for the delay. But, I'm here and have posted photos. Can you tell me why some photos are distorted until they are shown full size?

Thank you for the welcome. I am now collecting some gourd tools, in order to do bigger & better things with the miniature bottle gourds I planted last summer. This year I started a apple gourd seeds, and they rotted out, probably should have soaked them. Then I started a seed mix of gourds, and have some growing outside. My husband built this PVC trellis, in which to grow them on. However, we have had so much rain here in NW Arkansas this Spring, has been a slow start. I attended the Show Me Gourd Society in April, and got some new ideas. Thank you for your support in getting started.

Darlene your gourds are beautiful,  what kind of paint do you use?   they are so shiny, like mine used to be , before I quit painting them.  I made a lot of christmas gourds that I hung on my tree, small ones.  and cannot remember what paints I used years ago.

Hello Darlene, I'm new in here and do not know how to operate this mail, but I'm trying I was trying to talk to Carey Collier but could not get back to her.  I'm new at painting gourds, and need to know about the paint.  I have acrylic paints, but do not believe they are what I used many years ago on my christmas gourds,  I know it wasn't oils, but acrylic is not shiny enough. somehow I've forgotten what I use to use.

Hi Darlene, many thanks for the welcome. I'm absolutely brand new to gourds but am totally hooked, if that makes sense. We are currently shifting so I don't have a workshop for about another 4 months so spending my time looking at others wonderful work and trying to work out how I can do some of the ideas (in my own style) with mould making then casting in lead crystal.... all exciting. Thanks again :) Kind Regards from chilly autumn New Zealand
