Thanks for the welcome, Darlene! I just fell into decorating gourds because the Victim of My Affections grew a bunch and had no idea what to do with them! So I was told "here...make these pretty!" and several people actually BOUGHT them! Now I can't stop!

I'm going to the Show Me Gourd festival this weekend (its in the town where I grew up) and I can't WAIT to get more ideas!

Thanks for the welcome. I sort of stumbled onto this site. I think this is a fantastic place to see what everyone is creating. Already know I will be spending a great deal of time here. Jane

Thank you for welcoming me to this group. I am trying to learn how to navigate the site, but honestly, I am not the most proficient person on the computer. I'll just see how it goes, and try to figure out how to place some pictures of gourds I have painted on my new site here.
Meanwhile, it looks like there is loads of information to help me with gourd projects. So kind of you to welcome me, thank you again. Shirley, new to this group.

Thank you for the warm welcome. I absolutely love my job now that I'm retired and can work on gourds all the time. However, I rely on my husband to post my pictures on the different web sites. I'm a computer "dummy"...I just like to produce gourds--he's my business manager! I look forward to sharing ideas and thoughts. Have a great week!

Thanks for the welcome Darlene. I love the site and I am still looking! So many amazing gourds and artists. This is just what I was looking for, info and inspiration. I will get some of my info on the profile soon. More ideas than finished gourds right now. Soon I'll be able to put more time into the doing part. Thanks again for the welcome.

Thank you for your kind welcome, Darlene. I've just now been introduced to this type of art, and I can't wait to get started. You'll never guess what brought me here. Several years ago, I had a Terra Cotta planter that was, for me, the perfect shape. One day, when I had the largest plant out to water it, my little grandson sat in the planter, and cracked it. I have never again been able to find that exact shape and style. I've found "hose" holders with the shape, but they all have the small projection on the inside bottom, and deep engraving on the outside. It was only when I came across certain "gourd art" sites that I found the exact shape. So, now that I've found you, I can't wait to learn how to make various sizes of my favorite style of planter in all the world! :)

Thank you for the welcome. Your gourds are beautiful. Do you grow your own gourds as well? I hope to see you at the Gourd Festival here in ML in July.
Best Regards,
Dawn

This is great! I will visit often as I am new to gourd craft/art. My husband has been growing them for several years. Don't know why it has taken me so long to get started!
