Yes, the saguaro did take quite a while to do. I have tried to simplify my work on occasion but it's just not me. I guess it will be what it wants to be.

- By the way - you do know that the granite thingie in Nuberg is not ancient like Stonhenge? It was built in 1980 by some investor.

We are having a drought here too, and it's been blazing hot for almost 45 days.
It's a pretty good trip from you to Perry, GA - about 12 hours, and Nuberg, Ga is another 160 miles NNE of Perry thru the country. We live just outside Atlanta, so our festival is about 130 miles south of us. I'll be a vendor (full booth set-up) and teach two classes, as well as do some demos and be involved in the competition.

- Hi Mary, thank you for the compliment. I had not ever heard of the stone monolith in Nuberg - though I know where Elberton (the granite quarry) is. I looked it up after your email - interesting. Are you driving to Georgia to come to our Festival in November? If so, Nuberg is quite a ways from Perry where our Festival is being held.

Mary Mikelk said… Winters are tough here - but love the other 3 seasons. I just got back from Boston this afternoon - I strolled through the Boston Common and The Boston Gardens. One of the prettiest times of year. This year's spring here is absolutly incrediable. In the Boston Gardens, all the tulips are in full bloom (many, many beds of all colors immaginable), the buds on the trees beginning to pop, the flowering trees heavy with blossoms - it was marvelous to wander the paths, watch the swan boats.... plus have a few ideas for new gourd designs.... of course :)

- My apologies in the late reply - just getting the hang of this site. Berlin is located 20 miles east of Worcester - neighboring towns are Marlboro, Hudson and Clinton.

Ivana Ćelić said… - Thank you Mary. What about the colors, I usually paint my lamps but this is the natural texture of the gourd when it glowe from the inside. Serbia is located at the crossroads of Central and Southeastern Europe, covering the central part of the Balkans. Serbia borders Hungary to the north; Romania and Bulgaria to the east.
