Yes, the saguaro did take quite a while to do. I have tried to simplify my work on occasion but it's just not me. I guess it will be what it wants to be.

We are having a drought here too, and it's been blazing hot for almost 45 days.
It's a pretty good trip from you to Perry, GA - about 12 hours, and Nuberg, Ga is another 160 miles NNE of Perry thru the country. We live just outside Atlanta, so our festival is about 130 miles south of us. I'll be a vendor (full booth set-up) and teach two classes, as well as do some demos and be involved in the competition.
Mary Mikelk said… Winters are tough here - but love the other 3 seasons. I just got back from Boston this afternoon - I strolled through the Boston Common and The Boston Gardens. One of the prettiest times of year. This year's spring here is absolutly incrediable. In the Boston Gardens, all the tulips are in full bloom (many, many beds of all colors immaginable), the buds on the trees beginning to pop, the flowering trees heavy with blossoms - it was marvelous to wander the paths, watch the swan boats.... plus have a few ideas for new gourd designs.... of course :)
