I have been painting since 1975. I started in oils and then moved to acylics. I painted my first gourd after I came to Sun Lakes in 2004. I started painting Santas and ghosts. Then I started taking classes on how to carve and wood burn. Now I don't want to do anything else. I am hooked!! Thanks to all my teachers.

I noticed that you have joined Bonnie’s Gourd Art Enthusiasts website. The next time you log into the website please go to the top of the page or the bottom of the main page. Click on the “Groups” tab (top right) and please join the Washington Group on this site. Please show your Washington solidarity on Bonnie’s website. If you know of anyone else in Washington State that would find site useful please tell them about it.
Also, I am wondering if you knew the state of Washington has its own Gourd Society? I am assuming you didn’t because you’re not a member of the Washington State Gourd Society yet. There was a handful of us that formed the WSGS two years ago. We are now up to 99 members spread across the state. We would love to add you as another member if you’re interested in meeting like minded gourd heads from around the state. We are in the planning stages for our first ever “Northwest Gourd Festival” 17 &18 July, in Moses Lake, WA. We will have classes, demos, gourd art competitions and some of the top gourd supply vendors will be in attendance. If you think this is something you would be interested in go to the Membership page on our website. www.wagourdsociety.org

Can I ask you to join our Washington Group on Bonnie’s Gourd Art site.
Welcome, Vicki. We’re glad you’ve joined us. Please feel free to add a profile picture – and, of course, your own gourd photos. There are many activities and discussions for you to participate in. Look around and join in. And have fun! Darlene
