"Ann - sadly there is no official Colorado Gourd Society yet but at least this is a way for those of us in Colorado to get in touch. Bonnie Gibson is doing a weekend of classes in Colorado Springs in August - the group there brought her in.

Yes hi Vicki, the little carved green gourd is filled with sandalwood that has been soaked in water, it is not the rare sandalwood but a common Hawaii wild one. It takes about 3 weeks for the color to "leach" through. I will be posting more photos as the process finishes.
Thanks for the compliments. If you go to my photos there is an explaination on "gourd skins" under the phillips bowl photo's. It is a water slide decal that is melted into the gourd so that you don't have edges.
