there are good gourding days, a few not so good and then the very worst day ever.......so far.
I've been fighting a sinus' infection for months. What does this have to do with gourding? Everything. I can protect my sinus', that's not the problem. I discovered and plan to live by something I recently learned the hard way. If you have to push yourself to work on a gourd and you're not feeling well at all.......DON'T!
I had a penguin gourd that was so far from perfect, I had to…

After all these years of making and selling my gourd art, I finally got to participate in a gourd festival and had such a ball. Patty Fontanilla said… Yes the gourd is green, then filled with the dye, made from sandalwood soaked in water. ( a common sandalwood, not the rare one)
I will be posting more photos of the progression as it dyes, takes about 3 weeks..

Hi Sandy,
The banyan tree came about because I wanted to do the tubers and roots of the orchid and had to put it on something. The tree is snake gourds. The flowers are those little jewelry gourds or spinners. The tubers are small bananna gourds and the rest is made from scraps. It was a lot of fun but I'm glad it's finished. Thanks for all of your kind words.
