I recently used Patina on my gourd and when I went to seal it afterwards, wherever the spray hit, it took the patina away..is this unusual or should I be using a different type of sealer on patina's?Continue

Myrna, I just watched the gripalljaws youtube demo and you were cleaning a gourd with a round long shaft ball. Where can I get one like it? It sure looks like it makes cleaning a gourd soooooo much easier. Linda

Yes I will be there, Last year I was in charge of the ribbons, this year I do not know what I will be doing. I wanted to teach at the festival and I got the feeling I was not well know enough so I thought I would join the Gourd Art Enthusiast to get my name out there more, to show I have something to teach....It seems to be working!

I just use the regular Prismcolor pencils, I make sure there is a good sanded texture on the gourd before I start and if I want to add more pencil to what I initially did, I use a fixative and add more color. I use a colorless blender and a paper burnisher along with a lot of pressure. Color pencil is my medium and I have been working with it for 25 years. I am very excited my work is getting the reception it has. Thank you.

I Use Prisma color pencils. They blend very will with the gourd oils, some goursd are very dry and they soak right in to the gourd shell.
Thank you
