"Thanks for your kind words about my "gouch"...a term for gourd pouch.  The gourd is a bottle gourd with the neck cut off and cut in half.  The whole back is felt.  No feet so it doesn't stand up.  There is a…"

Topper

"Haha - I love chickens! At first I thought it was like a cake stand, which would also be very funny. You have captured the soul of the poultry!"

Bob and I started growing pumpkins and gourds several years ago. We loved the huge variety of gourds, their many uses, and as crafters, the infinite creative possibilities they present.

Thanks for your kind words about my "gouch"...a term for gourd pouch.  The gourd is a bottle gourd with the neck cut off and cut in half.  The whole back is felt.  No feet so it doesn't stand up.  There is a shoulder strap.  I had to stop chip carving for awhile until I had joint replacement on my thumb...so hopefully will be able to use gouges again.

Welcome to Gourd Art Enthusiasts. I have been a member for almost a year and have found it to be a well managed site. Those in charge seem to do a great job.  The photos are so inspiring and the communication is great.  I do mostly woodburning but enjoy carving and plan to explore other media.  My wife and I are retired school teachers and are happy to have time to pursue our crafts.  Once again welcome.  Also Minika, is the buffet still open there.  My wife's aunt lives near Warsaw.  Have severl relatives in that ares.  My wife's mom and dad lives in Mo across from Quincy.  I enjoy growing gourds but have not sold them.  Just use them for my work.  This is really a great site.
