"Nice! One must have to purchas Wilburn gourds for projects with such carvings. I have never purchased one before. I know that the gourds I use grown here in Ohio are no where thick enough to carve deep. "
"I too prefer to draw my work freehand, even if it isn't perfect it is still is true artwork. The fall scene you put on this gourd is stunning, better than any stencil you would have found. Just perfect"

I am new to the world of gourd art. Amazed by all I see I want to create more. Though this is my first time on the site I see some simularities with my practice pieces and those on the site. I hope to learn from all of the other artists.
Welcome to Gourd Art Enthusiasts. I have been a member for almost a year and have found it to be a well managed site. Those in charge seem to do a great job. The photos are so inspiring and the communication is great. I do mostly woodburning but enjoy carving and plan to explore other media. My wife and I are retired school teachers and are happy to have time to pursue our crafts. Once again welcome.
Welcome, Mary. We’re glad you’re here. There are many activities and discussions in which you may want to participate. Look around and join in. Add some photos of your own, but please no more than 25. And have fun! The GAE rules are located on the right side of the main page. Darlene
