My love is art and I've painted with acrylics, oils, pencil, colored pencil and some pen/ink. I've painted several gourds and find their shapes fascinating. Looking forward to doing many more.

I find colored pencils one of the most challenging things to use on a gourd.  It doesn't want to stick very well and it takes much longer than painting.  I really like the effect but will probably just use colored pencils once in a great while.  In the case of the iris, nearly everything is colored pencils.  In some places for the background I used the water based ones and used it more like watercolors.  And I not entirely fond of the green pencils I have so the leaves are in part acrylic paint.
