Using Gourd Seeds

Can someone share with me the tips for using gourd seeds as an embellishment? What's the best way to clean the seed? Which adhesives and sealers would you use? Any input would be appreciated.

Someone gave me bags of assorted pigment powders that are designed for use in soaps and cosmetics. Can I use this in any capacity on gourds do you think?

"I have done coiling on several occassions like in the book and have never had to resort to mathmatically calculating my holes. i use a pencil and eye ball where I think the holes should be. I may erase a few times but it always works out!
