Karen Hundt-Brown replied to Linda Prince's discussion How can I get a flat edge on rim of gourd?
"Use a sanding block. Get a scrap piece of wood, wrap a piece of sand paper around it and use that to even out the edge. You can use any size piece of wood or cut it to the size you need. Good luck can't wait to see pictures."

You're welcome. The longer the leaves the better. This is a very slow coiling but I believe well worth it. I've not seen anyone else use it on gourds. My lidded piece I entered in the competition at TGS, I didn't think it would win but it did get a 3rd place and a comment about it being a different use of materials. I'll have to cut me some leaves when I go back up to our country property.
