Have a gourd I did last year that the inlaid heishi is coming out--maybe glue old??  I want to try and remove it and replace it, hopefully without having to trash or redo the gourd.  Any ideas? Continue

Anyone have any recommendation for a spray finish for gold leafing?  Seem to remember someone saying use a matte spray but can't find my notes.  Have gold leaf edge and ink dye base so must be compatible with both.See More

Did these shield Christmas ornaments from a bag of damaged gourds I bought at Wuertz Festival for a GREAT price. Used naturally colored egg shells with technique Maria Dellos demoed on her web site for a little different look.

Hi:  Thanks for the suggestion of putting an epoxy finish on coyote gourds to help them be a little stronger, I'll have to try that.  Yes, the seeds are hard to start in the garden, but seem to do fine as volunteer plants - a friend has them come up around his driveway.  We also find them alongside some roads around here.  Thanks again,  Catherine

Hi Kathie:

I really enjoyed viewing your gourd-art photos.  My sisters and I also like the rock art and petroglyphs and hope to incorporate them in our projects.  We have a lot of the Coyote gourds we hope to use if we can overcome their fragility!

Thanks, Catherine Riggs

Marnin to ya..(Its me Irish speaking again..:D)

Altho I dont have a Native American bone in me ancestry (as far as I know..;D)..the gourd work that creating now,is the "path" Im taken..I dont know why Im drawn to that particular area, but when Im working on a tribal gourd ,Im in  a conscience hypnotic state..and I dont think there is any gas leaks in our house...:D

I do have a few e-pals from different tribal nations,so when I start on a path directing gourd, Ill ask a few questions, just to be prepared, if and when I do sell a piece and the customer asks a question of "what does this mean?"..I wont stand there w/ me finger up me nose and reply with a "Duhhh."...:D

Hope to hear from ya soon...:D

Hi Kathie

Ur Welcome

Vegas? Wow! moved out of that neon world in 1997,altho do miss Spring Mtn Ranch,Bonnie Springs sometimes..:)

I see in some your art work, some subtle bold petrographic/native american designs (dont think I spelled petroglyph  correctly..its way early..:D)...

LOVE IT!...:D

Probably a stupid question, what made you choose that "path"?

Hope to hear from ya again
