Hi Jim, How are you doing now? Did you ever find the dipper gourds we talked about? Not much going on here, just winter. I just noticed that you have some nice dipper gourds on your site but, not many have a good curve to them. I might have to reconfigure my design for the three bulb lamp. Would you pick out three with curved handles that are close to the same and send me a picture? Wish I could pick them out myself. Thankyou

Hi Jim, Did you have a chance to look for the dippers and bottle gourds? I have another question. Some of my bottle gourds did not have a chance to form the bottle top on them. They have a tapered top. Will they still dry  or shrivel up? Alot of my gourds didn't make it, that's alright though, I learned quite a bit about growing gourds and what not to do. I hope you will have a good turn out. Thankyou for all of your help. Bev

HI Jim, How does the garden grow?  I am on a mission to locate three dipper gourds that come close to looking the same. Slight curved handle with a ball at the base. I am going to make a floor lamp and want to secure the three at the handles so the ball ends will flair out from each other. They made the glass ones like this in the 70's and 80's. If need be I can send a drawing to you by mail as my digital camera is shot for now. And I also need a bottle gourd about 17" to 18" around at the base with a short fat neck and about 12" to 14" tall and set flat for a table lamp I will paint. By the way broke one of our snakes trying to raise it higher off the ground. Only have three and it was our best one, had plans for that one. My husband said what the---- did we do? I said looks like we broke it. So another sad story in the world of gourds. Thankyou for sharing your experiences. Bev

I am sorry about your snake, i know how you felt. I did hang the ones i cut off to see if they would dry out. It's up to God now, they didn't have a chance with me. We will see at seasons end where we stand. Good  Growing

Jim, Thankyou for the info. I just went over to highspeed internet instead of dial up and a new home page. Trying to transfer things over. I have to tell you a awful secret. I was cutting some bad leaves off and cut off two of my very nice dipper gourds. I guess you know my heart fell, didn't cry but it was close. Did you ever in your years of growing do anything that stupid ? All other gourds are doing fine, alot of little pear gourds and real nice cannonballs, canteens, med bottles, two vases and a couple i don't remember the name. I have learned alot from doing this. If i grow next year i will do some things differently.
