My interest in gourds is the incredible diversity of techniques that can be used on them. Almost nothing is impossible. They've pushed me to learn so many new things I would never have tried otherwise from beading to basketry and clay, carving, the list goes on and on.

All my lamp bases are from recycled wood I get for free from furniture companies scrap bins. I have a few friends who also work at a couple of companies and they pick up pieces for me as well. Then my DH cut and routers the edges for me.

Hi Gloria, I have to tell you that the cat gourd caught my eye right away! I love the wildlife gourds and I love to do them. I wanted to ask you if you had that displayed for competition at the Indiana Gourd Show a couple of years ago? If that is the one I saw, it is even better in "person". Nice Job!
