Profile Information

What is your interest in gourds? Please be specific - one word answers will not be accepted. We block all potential spammers. YOU MUST use both your first and last name on your profile or we will not approve your membership.
Barbara Marshall is the GAE challenge coordinator and GAE member. Working with gourds for over 15 years and the biggest inspiration was taking carving lessons from Bonnie Gibson.
Advice to others: When working with any form of art...never stop taking lessons from talented instructors. Never stop learning!

GAE MONTHLY CHALLENGE

 CONGRATULATIONS TO JILL ATWOOD FOR WINNING THE LAST MONTHLY GAE CHALLENGE "WORLD TRAVELS"  Jill regularly submits entries of her beautiful gourd creations.  For "World Travels" Jill created a gourd titled "Beijing Dragon" depicting her travels to Beijing, China.

Jill will receive a set of templates donated by the amazing Miriam Joy!

We'll be waiting to see a photo of how Jill uses the templates.  And we'll also be waiting to see more entries for our March "EASTER CREATIONS".

Quarter 2 2016 - "Viva Mexico!" 

Gourds can be painted, stained, carved, embellished or wood burned with any designs or patterns that have a Mexican flair.  Please send only one photo of your favorite gourd creation to Barbara Marshall, challenge coordinator at GAEchallenge@yahoo.com.  And please wait for the coordinator to post the pictures.  Thanks!

GAE Challenge RULES

  1. Send ONE photo; Please do not send several and ask your challenge coordinator to pick one. One composite photo is also acceptable if you know how to create one.
  • JPG format no larger than 1MB please.
  • Place "GAE PHOTO" and the theme of the month in the subject line of email - eg. "GAE PHOTO-Let It Snow"
  • Include your FIRST and LAST NAME
  • Include a Title and Brief Description of your work.

     2.  Send to- Barbara Marshall, at gaechallenge@yahoo.com. 

Your entry must be work that has NOT already been posted on GAE.  PLEASE DO NOT POST YOUR CHALLENGE ENTRY.  The challenge coordinator will post the photo – this will reduce the risk of possible duplicate photos on the website.

2016 1st Quarter GAE Challenge Prize

We are fortunate to have Miriam Joy once again donate "Large and Small Circle Templates" for this quarter's GAE Challenge selection.  "Miriam Joy's Craft Templates - Use a Craft Template for more precise patterns for your Gourd Artwork!   http://www.miriamjoy.com
