I have been painting carving and burning gourds for the last couple of years.Last year and this year I have been able to grow my own crops. First crop of lumpy gourds nearly ready to harvest. Living in Australia it's very difficult to find other gourd artists and no hope of any lessons of any kind so I struggle along experimenting with things I see on the internet in sites like yours.
Australia is a big place, one of the few places I would like to see, check out Joyce De Ruyter she's one of your "close" gourd folks. Amazing how large our world is, esp. the gourd world. You can learn a bunch here on this site if only being inspired by others work. We have gourd patches here in Texas, the state is too large for folks to get together more than a couple times a year, groups closer to each meet monthly and share and teach each other things. We've even had dot painting classes to represent your countries heritage.
Had to look at where you were from since you have such a different color pallet and style. Sure enough you're from a different land:-) Did you know you have a gourd buddy down in Tasmania? Really like your colors.
