I love working to create a beautiful piece of art with a gourd. Either by painting, carving or burning. I am always ready to learn more techniques.

Eileen, thank you for your comment.  You would love working with clay.  Quickwood is great, but you have to work fast before it sets up.  I love to work with gourds. I just bought a woodburner so I can try to burn like you do.  I may need some advise. It looks like you have that mastered.

Thanks for the friend request. It is neat that gourds have brought so many of us together. Your wood burning is beautiful. I need to do a lot more practicing.

Thank you, Eileen. I love your work also. I'm taking a weekly zentangle class now and hope to try it on some gourds some day. Your work is so beautiful!!

Eileen, I started working with gourds in 2002 and I'm still learning new things.  ;o)

I'm also self-taught.  ;o)  I've had 2 painting classes, 2 days of carving where I learned how to destroy a gourd and not how to smooth things out, and the list goes on. ;o)  I've learned by reading, doing my own thing, and asking questions.  You've done very well learning on your own!!

Welcome,  Eileen. We’re glad you’re here. There are many  activities and discussions in which you may want to participate.  Look around and join in.  Add some  photos of your own, but please no more than 25. And have fun!  The  GAE rules are located on the right side of the main page.   Darlene
