I love nature and working with it. I purchased a packet of gourd seeds and made my first birdhouse gourd from my "crop of 20"...and the rest was history. Im hooked and on a tail spin, painting and sculpting and growing gourds,I'm amazed at what can be done with them and I love looking at all gourds big and small !! look forward to showing some of my creations.

Hi Denise, I use Envirotex (not sure about the spelling).  You can get it at Michaels.  It's a 2 part product that you mix together.  To get rid of the bubbles  on the surface after pouring, blow on it or I use my small torch and they are immediately gone.  Phyllis

Thanks!  I have only been at this since last Sept.  My husband saw the gourd and said "flamingo" so that is what it will be.  I grow bamboo too, but the thin black kind in a huge pot, so that would not be strong enough, but I do have some thicker bamboo too.  I hadn't thought about putting it all the way through and wonder what I would do.  Thanks so much for sharing your ideas.  I just love this site and all the wonderful people that help and inspire each other!

Welcome to Gourd Art Enthusiasts. I've been a member for a few months and have really enjoyed the site. It seems to be well managed and certainally inspirational. The communication is great and the photos provide wonderful inspiration as far as the wide variety of possibilities for "gourd art" We live near Lebanon, MO and are retired school teachers. Hope you enjoy the site as much as I have. Once again Welcome
