Hi Denise, I use Envirotex (not sure about the spelling). You can get it at Michaels. It's a 2 part product that you mix together. To get rid of the bubbles on the surface after pouring, blow on it or I use my small torch and they are immediately gone. Phyllis
June Johnson said… Thanks! I have only been at this since last Sept. My husband saw the gourd and said "flamingo" so that is what it will be. I grow bamboo too, but the thin black kind in a huge pot, so that would not be strong enough, but I do have some thicker bamboo too. I hadn't thought about putting it all the way through and wonder what I would do. Thanks so much for sharing your ideas. I just love this site and all the wonderful people that help and inspire each other!
