Hay Carrie, Don't get me wrong at all, I love the grape pieces....I also like a gourds natural color and shell. In a gourd show I would "maybe" say not enough of the "gourd" , most pieces are not made for a gourd show competition anyhow, your work is masterful!   "Peoples Choice" is the BEST praise! Your balance, color, design, details all of itis great...... the horses are always special to me, your winged horses are over the top, can't wait to see what's next!

Thanks, Carrie,  The curlew is going to a gal in Colorado as a surprise gift for her husband on their 25th anniversary.

I have found this quick set stuff at a farm machinery shop! Like the other resins it has to be kneaded but with this you know when it is ready because it gets hot. it is used on all materials but i think in this place they use it to patch up holes in hoses and machinery. it really sticks fast and can be sanded and painted. If I wanted to do a complex piece I would have to do it in stages.

Unfortunetly, we did not get to meet, & I love meeting new gourd people especially those associated with GAE.  I too use alot of Das Clay vs. the epoxy sculpt.  I'm glad you did well at our show in competition. I no longer enter because of their bad politics. They tend to pick their inner circle of friends & not judge on the art alone, not following the AGS rules at all. It has me sooo turned off, I don't even bother anymore.  I thought the "Best of Show" was a joke this year & a few of the other division winners, but that's just my opionion.  I went to Ky. show this year & did really well, plus it was so refreshing to be judged on my art quality alone & not who is a board member or the pres. best friend.  I love gourds & being part of the IGS, but I have sour grapes when it comes to putting politics before art at the state show.  We have enough politics in our life without polluting a gourd function with it.
