Rating Photos & other website tips

If you want to utilize this site fully, there are many extra features that you may not even realize are available.

Did you know you can rate photos? When you pull up a photo to look at the full sized picture, there are 5 greyed out stars to the right of the photo. You may click on these to assign 1-5 stars. If you've ever used Netflix or similar programs this works exactly the same. If one person rates a photo as a 5, and someone else as a 2, then that photo's score would be around a… Continue

Blog versus Forum?

If you have a question, the forum is the best place to post your discussion. These posts will remain visible on the forum section for quite a while. If it's really important information, we can make them "featured posts" so they stay up top all of the time.

If you just want to make general statements or tell about what you are doing with gourds, then the blog area is for you. People can still reply to your posts, but important questions won't be lost as new entries push the old ones… Continue

Gourd Calendar?

In previous years, someone has taken it upon themselves to gather gourd art photos from many artists and to create a wall calendar featuring that art. I know I participated for several years but I don't believe anyone has done so lately.. It takes a lot of work to get photos and permissions from all the of the different people - but nothing says you couldn't create a calendar with your own gourd art using one of the many photo services.

This year I searched for an art wall calendar… Continue

Wow, I'm really enjoying all the photos people are posting! Thanks for sharing. Isn't the photo slideshow feature neat?

I have a passion for gourd crafting and gourd art! I developed this interactive gourd web site so that we can all share ideas, photos and discussions about gourds!

If you want to see more of my work or view many pages of free tutorials, I encourage you to visit my main site at www.ArizonaGourds.com I also sell gourd crafting tools, supplies, and hard to find embellishments for gourd crafting. Your purchases from Arizona Gourds helps to sponsor the site.

Thanks for stopping by! Bonnie Gibson

I do not know you but I love your work and have at least one of your books.  I checked e-mail today and saw the note about GAE..so sorry to hear, but understand completely.  I just wanted to say "Thank You".  During a brief foray into gourd crafting the site was an immense inspiration and still is.  Still try to grow a few gourds every year and get active in the fall.  I hope you are able to work out something with the Gourd Society, although they are probably having a hard time to.  I also have strayed into Fiber Arts over the years and I see that craft come and go.  It is now on an upswing again.  I expect the same happens with gourdcrafting.  Good luck to you and  as I said..one of your books was a gift  to me from my daughter and will always be a treasure to me.

It's only taken a couple of years plus to get back to you. Life has a way of creating many distractions. I would like to be a member. I'm not sure how to respond on this site to any comments or questions you may have for me.

Ah! Ignorance straight away. Which ones are classified as ornamental gourds and I take your point about northern summers, some years we are still waiting in September before we realise that it has been and gone,  usually 1 day in May.

Hello Bonnie,  I have been on this great web site for several years but haven't been using it for about a year.  All my friends and messages seem to be gone.  Can you help me with that.  I am now able to get back in to gourd art and need to again establish communications with those friends. Thanks Clint
