Help with oil lamp

I want to make an oil burning gourd. The directions call for a 5/8" hole. How do you clean the inside of the gourd out with that small of a hole?

"Hi Betty, what I do is wood-burn all of the subject (in this case cats') then lay stains or ink dyes on most areas, blending as I go. all white areas are done with white acrylic paint watered down for the texture and color that I'm after.…"

The brushed in hair you see is done with the burn-tip and is enhanced when a finish is applied. Is that what you see?
