"Thanks, It seems to have so much luster for an unvarnished gourds, I'm surprised.  No problem with scratching?"

"I don't varnish them.  This is just the natural finish after alcohol ink.  Also, I didn't do anything to the gourd before adding the ink (just cleaned it!). FYI.. the black edges of the colors are natural - this is what happens…"

"Beautiful!  What is the material on top - yarn?  Did you crochet it? Does the leather lacing pull the top together so it's a bag with a drawstring closing?"

"There's a book with great instructions for the braided leather rim -- 25 photos, step-by-step.  It's Marianne Barnes' Creative Rims for Gourd Art (published 2014)."

"I didn't dilute the alcohol ink.  It comes in a spray bottle and I just sprayed!  I sprayed outdoors as it's hard with any spray to not spray everything around me!"

"I've also decoupaged the inside of a gourd - it works great.  I used an autumn leaf napkin and tore it, then decoupaged each piece. "

"These are so cute!  You inspire me to try decoupage.  Do you think the inside of a gourd is too porous to allow a nice coverage?"
