Hi Barbara, I laid the wet clay directly on the gourd, and then when dry slid it off and re attached it. After roughing up the gourd surface, E6000 works great to attach clay pieces. It took lots of time to create the layers here. But it was a fun piece.

Barbara, I am very interested.  It will be about a month until I get caught up from the school year and get back from vacation. Please send me the information.

Barbara,  I really would love to learn how to do pine needles.  I am just really getting started in different art forms and love it .  In addition I will be retired in two weeks and ready to really enjoy the gourd work.

Welcome to Gourd Art Enthusiasts. I have been a member for almost a year and have found it to be a well managed site. Those in charge seem to do a great job.  The photos are so inspiring and the communication is great.  I do mostly woodburning but enjoy carving and plan to explore other media.  My wife and I are retired school teachers and are happy to have time to pursue our crafts.  Once again welcome.
