"glad it helped you Judy. I can't tell you how many people buy the Microlux & try to use it for general purpose cutting especially on thicker gourds & keep breaking blades. It doesn't matter who asks the question. What is important…"

I'm sure you will enjoy the PA gourd show as it is always fun to get together with people who do what you do. You will be so inspired it will keep you going for months. There is a gourd show in Albuquerque every year. I have gone twice since moving to the NW corner of the state and have found it to be very educational and inspiring. Have fun!

Thank you for your comments.

I really like your work. It is so much fun to do the cutout work.

For the last 2 years I have grown my own gourds. The shells are quite thin, but they are sturdy.

Do you use pine needles on some of your gourds? I have a source for nice long needles but haven't combined any with the gourds.

Audrey, Thanks for your nice comment. I just love working with shapes and often draw and erase several times before I decide on a design. This one is uneven (which I like) and just seemed right. Glad you liked it.
I've enjoyed seeing your work too. Are most of your pieces as small as they look? You have a delicate touch and good eye for design. I like it all!!

Love your site. For planting, I am experimenting and have not prepared the inside with anything. One gourd is natural on the outside, one is painted. I started seeds in them so the plants are very small but so far this is working excellently. I drilled holes in the bottom and added a good bit of gravel for drainage. Your work is inspiring.
