I began working on gourds in January of 2014.
I look forward to learning all aspects of gourd art. Admiring everyone's gourds and reading the comments and blogs are most helpful . I had never thought of a gourd as fine art until I saw where you could take one to . I am excited about learning about this art form.
Hay April, look at the TGS website and see what's going on at the show....competition is one of the things, several different divisions. You should join TGS and AGS both have good magizines and info. I believe there is a Patch in your area. Our Southeast Patch meets once a month and teaches each other different techiques and many of the other patches do the same. We're a long drive from you but you would be welcome at our meetings if you ever come to the Houston area. Looks like you must have done some art work before gourds!
Hay April, Since you are fairly new at gourds do you know that the Texas Gourd Society will be having it's yearly Festival this year in New Bransfels in August. I hope you are planning on coming. Check the TGS website for details. There are some really good classes available. I'll be there the whole show, please come by the Southeast Patch booth and yank my chain if you make it to the Festival. You're doing really good work for a new gourder!!!!! I'm in the process of moving right now close to Bryan/College station.
Welcome, April. We’re glad you’re here. There are many activities and discussions in which you may want to participate. Look around and join in. Add some photos of your own, but please no more than 25. And have fun! The GAE rules are located on the right side of the main page. Darlene
