Profile Information

What is your interest in gourds? Please be specific - one word answers don't allow us to block potential spammers. YOU MUST use both your first and last name on your profile!
My grandmother has grown and sculpted with gourds for years - her passion has carried on to me! I make realistic animals with all sorts of gourds. I enjoy finding the animal within the gourd shape and making them look like they're ready to come alive.

Please visit my website! www.carabevan.com

Gourdies eeeeverywhere

I love to make animals/fantasy creatures from gourds! Turtles, frogs, mice, dragons, spiders, cats, birds, and tons of other ideas I haven't tried yet!

Many different creations A great sampler of my gourd art!

Gourd Turtles! I've made a series of gourd turtles to make specific species. I use maranka (aka, caveman) gourds. 59 differnet turtles so far!

Hi, Cara, Thanks for your comments on my gourds! They are a medium I thoroughly enjoy. Tucks joints use Quik-wood, while others are constructed of gourd pieces.

Hi Cara,

Please go to the Cherokee Gourd gathering web site at:

www.gourdgathering.net   Yes, this is the BEST show nearby!!  I go every year, and will miss my old gourd-traveling-buddy this year as she has moved to Illinois; if you want a room mate let me know!  I'll stay at least Thursday and Friday nights this year.  It is a four-day show with 94 classes this year!  Pleanty of vendors too so you can buy anything & everything!  PLUS - thery have a tent where you can try out lots of tools for free.  The evenings are filled too with activities to enjoy.

I have a son & his family who live in Charlotte, which is between you & I right?  Maybe one day when I'm visiting them a few days we can meet??

Please feel free to email me at my home email address too, which is:

chris_p_artist@yahoo.com    Thanks, Christine Pace

PS - We are having our second "Mountain Gourd Gathering" here in Cedar Mountain NC where I live tghis August 19 & 20 if you're interested!  Much smaller than Cherokee though.
