Thanks, Ginny.  The gourd is all carved.  The dragonfly on the coiling is gourd.  The finish is Ron Young's metal coating and patina.

Now this is a classy looking gourd.  I just really do love it.  Was this done with just carving, and what stain or ink did you use?  Very beautiful

Wow! Just amazing...the carving and the patina are amazing and then the coiling! So attractive.

Thanks, Rhonda and Clarissa.  I used this metal coating for my Zuni Bear with Metal Coating and Patina class.  I'll be teaching it Sunday at the Florida Show.  I'll probably be coming up  with another class using this metal coating.

I also hope you'll teach this in one of your classes...or maybe how you did on the fabulous gourd at your homepage website (the red and gold with the pine needles coliling, on the left side). Love that texture !
