Hi to members of our group... we had a problem with our ShowMe Gourd Society website, and our website people have been working diligently to get a new one up and running.  We had to change domains, and you can't yet google it, so you'll have to use this link and bookmark it for yourselves. http://showmegourdsociety.org  Thanks all!

The clock is ticking, only 2 months till Festival time!  This year's theme is "Dance to the Music".  There are new workshops and competition categories, including one called "out of your comfort zone".  This year the challenge is filigree carving.

All may enter this crafted gourd class even if you have entered in other divisions.  The purpose of this division is to allow artists to try a technique that is new to them without making them compete at a more difficult level.  If you need a place to start, here's a video with some basics.

Sounds like fun!

Create an event for your next show with all of this info and add it to our events page.  I am surprised how few chapters take advantage of this.  We post all large festivals when they are submitted, we just don't promote small things like patch events.

Hi gang!  Show-Me Gourd Society has a new venue this year.  We are returning to the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds in Springfield, Missouri for our 2016 festival.  They are working with us for a successful venue, and we are stoked!  We had moved to Remington Center in Springfield last year, and they have closed their doors, so it's back to the fair.

I am so very  sorry to hear about Ralph.  He was such a generous, sharing person.  And a sweet gentle spirit.  I always looked forward to seeing his gourd creations at the festival.

How terribly sad we are to  hear that our dear friend Ralph has passed away. Ralph was a super person, great sense of humor and all of us who knew him personally will remember him always. We will miss working with him at our gourd festivals.

Well the "Wild Hogs Gourd Patch" had a wonderful meeting on Sept. 6 in my studio! We had nine members present and Suzy Meelhuzen taught us how to paint a Cardinal! A wonderful class and wonderful food and comeraderie. Gourd folks are the greatest!
