Louisiana Gourd Society Inaugural Gourd Retreat

May 15, 16, & 17, 2015
Camp Hardtner
Pollock, Louisiana

Louisiana Gourd Society’s Gourd Retreat will start on Friday, May 15th in the afternoon with 1, 4 hour class. We will offer 2 classes or any 1 all-day class on Saturday. We will also have 1, 4 hour class on Sunday morning. We invite you to join us. We are working on ways to make this Retreat special. We would you like you to take home a better understanding of creating Gourd Art as well as a few finished pieces of ART. With your desire to learn and our teacher’s imagination and their teaching skills this can happen.

Well Kate, the Gourd Show was great & you certainly poured your heart & soul into it & it showed. We were traveling for over 8 weeks so I am just now catching my breath & getting ready for our summer vacation.

It was a lot of fun & it appears that everyone was enjoying themselves, including the mayor & his wife. I was pleasantly surprised at the number of vendors & the attendees who all seemed to excited to be there. What a great group.

Now it's time to relax & catch your breath before you take off running for the 2014 festival. Oh, wait, that's right, you've already started running...well, several of us have been off, running & diligently working on the classes for 2014 already. No rest for the weary ;)

Next year is going to be bigger & better!!!!

The dust has settled on our 1st Louisiana Gourd Show. I am still in awe of the beautiful gourd art that was on diplay.  Thanks to all who entered the ribbon competition, our wonderful vendors, our volunteers, and all who helped us in our efforts!

Glad to hear the festival was a hit. So sorry I was sick & couldn't come up to Haynesville. I missed so much. Signed up to take the braiding class. Planning on next time....

Hey Sandlady:

Thanks for joining our group- we're very quiet, but we do love gourds! I am looking for a large centerpiece gourd- about 2 foot tall- for our LGS festival- do you have big ones?

Hi Hellen!

Thanks for your nice comments about our show.  The LGS is planning "Gourding on the Bayou" for 2013 in April and we'd love to see you there for some more gourd fun.

My husband, Barry, and I attended your 2012 gourd festival.  We really enjoyed ourselves and thought everyone was great.  You really had a nice show.  Hope to see you at the 2013 gourd festival.
