Dedicated to Gourd Crafters, Artists and Gourd Art Fans
Hello Everyone, I understand many of you are new to the exciting world of the computer and using this site. Before posting a question, I implore you to take the time to go through all of the Forum tabs and extra forum pages. More than likely you’re question has already been asked a few different ways and answered a few different ways. It gets a little redundant and wastes time to answer a question that has already been answered because you didn't take the time to look around in the forum first. Also, please try to post your questions in the correct discussion. You will get an answer a lot faster if the question is in the correct category. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy helping everyone as long as you try to help yourself first and come up with new questions.
Thank You

For some reason there have been some issues with MSN since the update on ning and MSN over the past few months. She is now getting GAE email notifications again. -KB
Permalink Reply by Susan Bernard on December 31, 2012 at 2:11pm Oz, I'm new to this site. I have read through all of the topics, can't find what I'm looking for, and am not sure where to post this. I'm working on two vessels where a lot of the interior of the gourd shows. I've spent a ton of time sanding, and I can't find a way to finish the interior.
First, I applied Matte Medium to the interior and then transparent ink dye (which is the finish I like best for the exterior). However, it doesn't give me the look I want for the interior--which is smooth, and transparent. I also tried Gesso and acrylic paint, which I thought might be smooth, but it isn't, and of course, I lose the natural feeling of the gourd. I read about people who use spray paint, but again, that's not the look I want. Any ideas?
Another problem is there seems to be a bit of mold. I read elsewhere about bleaching it, and I'll try that.
Permalink Reply by Oz - Admin #2 on December 31, 2012 at 2:32pm I would post this under the forum heading "Gourding Techniques and Tips" .
Also if you are looking for something there are two ways to find it.
1. go up toward the top of the forum page and enter a word or phrase in the search box.
2. go up toward the top of the forum page and and click on the index, this is a list of all the forum topics.
Permalink Reply by Susan Bernard on January 1, 2013 at 12:25am Oz, Thanks! Could you please remove this discussion from my home page. There are now 48 replies, and none of them refer to my question. So, either no one has an answer or it's lost in the larger post. I appreciate it!
Permalink Reply by Oz - Admin #2 on January 1, 2013 at 8:34am Susan, checked your My Page and you only have a few posts on there. I think the 48 you are talking about falls under the heading in this post "Read this before posting" which should be at 50 with this post.
