White ink or white transparent acrylic

I  have a somewhat large area ( size of the subject, a dog, considered) that I need to make white. I find that it comes out too transparent and am wondering if there is a way to make either the ink or transparent acrylic a little more opaque? Is there a primer I could use, or something to add to the ink?  I always seem to have this problem with whites unlessI am doing a very small area. Thanks, SandiSee More
